Currently, I serve as a crime analysis advisor in CNA’s Center for Justice Research Innovation supporting the Crime Analyst in Residence (CAR), Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), and Public Safety Partnership (PSP) grant programs. In this role, I provide crime analysis training and technical assistance to nearly two dozen law enforcement agencies. Before joining CNA, I established the first crime analysis program for the Matthews Police Department in North Carolina. I also worked as a corporate intelligence specialist for Bank of America and as a part-time crime and intelligence analyst for the Michigan State University Police Department.
I am an adjunct professor, currently teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in crime analysis for Radford University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I design and deliver courses on specialized topics such as Strategic and Administrative Crime Analysis; Graduate Applications in Crime Analysis; Graduate Crime Mapping; Community-Oriented Policing, Problem Solving and Crime Analysis; and Foundations of Crime Analysis. Additionally, I previously taught for the University of South Carolina Upstate within the Upstate Crime Analysis Center.
As a founding board member of the Carolinas Crime Analysis Association, I have actively contributed to the organization’s growth and development over the past four years. Starting as Treasurer and now serving as President, I have collaborated closely with the CCAA board to expand our membership to nearly 200 members. For IACA, I previously served on the Regional Associations Committee (RAC) and now assist on the Membership Committee. I've had the opportunity to share my expertise with fellow analysts through presentations at conferences, hosting webinars, and coauthoring a chapter in the upcoming edition of the textbook.
Outside the office, I’m all about enjoying the simple pleasures in life. I’m a huge dog lover, with a soft spot for Beagles, Dalmatians, and Great Danes—especially rescue pups. Crafting is my go-to for unwinding, along with cheering on Michigan State... Go Green! As a digital nomad, I love exploring new places, but Charleston, SC will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m a total documentary junkie, and my sushi obsession keeps me searching for the best rolls. I’m also on a mission to find the perfect gluten-free dessert recipe. When I'm not doing any of that, you can find me playing pickleball. It’s the simple stuff that keeps me motivated and grounded every day!
